May Day – May Day – Happy May Day!

The month of May gives us many opportunities to celebrate!

Beginning with May 1st, the public holiday known as May Day, is celebrated. This ancient Spring Festival is a traditional spring holiday in many cultures and is known for dancing around the Maypole with singing and festivities.

On May 12th it’s a time to celebrate all mothers. Happy Mother’s Day!!! What a gift to have a special day set aside to honor and recognize you for all you do. Enjoy your special day mom’s, you deserve it!

On May 27th, Memorial Day is observed, honoring the men and women who gave their all while serving in the U.S. military to let freedom ring. So while you are out enjoying this national holiday please remember to be thankful for all those who serve to keep our nation great!

The month of May really ramps up the outdoor activities also. The warmer weather is great for getting out and enjoying the lakes, our many hiking and biking trails, and the events in the courthouse square.
